Earl Sweatshirt - EARL (Video)

Earl Sweatshirt is just one member of Odd Future, a collective of skateboarding-foul mouthed-rappers. Part Wu-Tang, part Jackass these guys have taken my i-Tunes by storm. Check out the article that swayed me at Mishka's Bloglin. Here's an excerpt;

"These dudes are black skaters rapping about personal issues, how fresh they are and murder over beats that sound a bit like The Neptunes meets El-P meets Madlib. They shout out Waka Flocka flame and Joy Division in the same sentence. They create their own visual identity through in house artwork and videos (viral and traditional). Lastly, they’re distributing their music for free and cultivating their cult (for now) fanbase via the internet. Besides now, when else could this marriage of material and medium exist?"

Ra Ra Riot - Boy (Video)

From most of the reviews I've read I gather not too many people loved Ra Ra Riot's sophomore release "The Orchard". After having a couple of weeks to listen to the album I'd have to disagree. It may be similar to their original album, "The Rhumb Line", but that is what I wanted. Formulaic music doesn't always have to be a bad thing. It's comfortable for a bands listeners to know what they should expect. It also doesn't hurt that they have a sexy cello player. Who hasn't had the sexy cello fantasy?

The Roots ft. Monsters Of Folk - Dear God 2.0 (Video)

Dear God. I love The Roots.

Beat Connection - In The Water (Video)

Surf's Up! Tempo's Down! Beat Connection ride a wave of mellowed out beach grooves and fast paced rhythm on their EP "Surf Noir". The album, which you can download for free on Bandcamp here, has a haunting yet breezy feel taking elements of many different genres. Tropical drums, bouncy synths, spiraling guitars, house influenced beats are all over this 8-song gem.

Mikey Rocks (Of The Cool Kids) - Foreign Features (Video)

One half of The Cool Kids, Mikey Rocks, has released some solo content over the summer displaying his smooth flow and athletic wordplay. Putting on a show like that must be tiring. I think that's why he's wearing the Bulls track pants in the video.

Kavinsky - Testarossa Autodrive (Video)

Love the aesthetic that is Kavinsky. I wish I had an animated counterpart.

Sam Sparro - Pocket (Video)

"If you don't know that by now then I feel quite sorry for you. I'm sorry for you."

Eric B. & Rakim - I Ain't No Joke (Video)

My academic-year officially came to an end today. As I sit here looking at my marks, I feel I must quote Eric B & Rakim and proclaim "I Ain't No Joke"! Pardon my grammar.

Jack Peñate - Pull My Heart Away (Video)

This video is either shot in "that place" from Indiana Jones or "that planet" from Star Wars. Can't make up my mind.

"Dick Riding For The Future"

Clooney can bust a move! This newest and final season of "The Boondocks" provided me with content to break my slump. Did somebody say blog-post avalanche?

Hot Chip - I Feel Better (Video)

Wait? What just happened? I thought I understood it until Carl Winslow's floating head attacked.

Phantogram - Mouthful of Diamonds (Live Video)

Why is it I listen to rainy day music on a sunny day? I guess Phantogram is just that good. I have listened to their debut EP "Eyelid Movies" countless times and can't get enough of this eerie yet impassioned ballad.

All Out - Lights (Video)

Dear God! Artists like LMFAO, 3OH!3, Ke$ha, Schwayze have opened up the Pandora's box of douche-baggery. Anyone with a bedroom, laptop and a t-shirt that says anything, anything, can put out a potential top 40 hit. I present to you...All Out.

SkiBeatz feat Stalley - S.T.A.L.L.E.Y (Video)

The Bold And Bearded. My vision of a perfect world.

So Many Wizards - Fly A Kite (Video)

How can you not like a band named So Many Wizards? With an infectious melody "Fly A Kite" makes me want to tap dance freely around my neighbourhood. Can't wait to hear more of his upcoming Love Songs For When You Leave Me EP.

Wakey! Wakey! - Brooklyn (Video)

The lyrics of Wakey!Wakey!'s ballad "Brooklyn" cut through the mesmorizing piano. Mike Grubb, who describes his role in the band as "Piano, Mojo, and Vocals", has a voice worthy of top 40 radio with a Ben Folds-like playfulness. Check out more of Wakey!Wakey! at their MySpace.

Miles Krukosky - Dog In The Burning Building (Video)

I haven't quite decided if I love this video or if it's the stuff that nightmares are made of. The tune is catchy though. Gotta love the xylophone. Also gotta love words that start with x.

DOM KENNEDY - Menace Beach (Video)

I wish my rope chain looked neon. I just looks like rope. Twine to be precise. Glad to see my favourite track from DOM's FutureStreet/DrugSounds got a video.

Rain Machine (Kyp Malone of TV on the Radio) - Give Blood (Video)

I wish I had Kyp Malone's ;

I volunteer and work with children for school and throughly enjoy my days. But Trick loves the kids. Orange sodas for everyone!
