With XV's "Everybody's Nobody", the untitled Chester French project and Wale's "Back To The Feature" all slated for March releases, mixtape season has officially begun! I may have been the only person who wasn't impressed with Drake's "So Far Gone" but I am thoroughly impressed with "A Matter Of Time". Mike Posner's smokey voice infuses these poppy tracks with some soul and quickly sets himself apart from countless solo male singing acts out there. "Hey Cupid","Drug Dealer Girl" and the title track "Losing My Mind" are standouts and his cover of current Beyonce single "Halo" is done perfectly. Using the three previously released tracks he's made with Big Sean to beef up the mixtape may be it's only downfall. Channeling sounds from Annie,Gnarls Barkley, Justin Timberlake and Andre 3000's "The Love Bellow" Posner and his backing band The Brain Trust provide a fun, contemporary sound.
