Wale Week: Day 5

With the announcement of his album and tour title, the release of a t-shirt and his new single, Wale Week has been quite exciting. I can't wait to see what 2009 brings for Wale, one thing I know for sure is that I will be attending his show April 26th at The Mod Club in Toronto. I'm especially excited after listening to "Chillin", which is instantaneously addictive and a step above the earlier leaked version.  A radio rip of "Chillin" featuring Lady GaGa (cringe) is available on The Elitaste right now and will be available on i-Tunes next week. Wale Week: Day 2 (I'm Late)

Once again via his Twitter, Wale made the second announcement of Wale Week yesterday. "Back To The Feature" dropping April 29th has production done by 9th Wonder and is Wale's fifth official mixtape. Featuring cameos by Bun B, Curren$y, Joe Budden, Joel Ortiz and a cast of other MC's. Wale describes "Back To The Feature" as "an easy listen...it's no controversy, it's no dramatic, it's pure hip hop from artists that I love to listen to." Check out the newest leak from this upcoming mixtape, "Word Play" featuring Curren$y and Tre from UCB, here.

Also: Wale began blogging over at Hypebeast this week, take a look at his thoughts here.

Wale Week: Day 1

As I posted here last week, this week will be packed full of Wale exclusives. Today via his Twitter, which is somewhat symbolic of the title, Wale announced the title of his first album. "Attention Deficit" was declared via the images above and bellow, something very indicative of Wale's internet fueled career. Before announcing the name, Wale described the album as "...trying to wake up the world...just my part in trying to restore a genre that some say is fading...about the insecurities we all have...honest...love." Summer 2009 can't come quick enough.

Wale Week: Day 4

To commemorate the release of his first major label debut, "Chillin", this friday Wale has teamed up with Good Bully for this t-shirt. According to Wale this shirt is only available "when you see me", which makes sense because he's supposed to announce the dates for his "Attention Deficit Tour" sometime today. This tee has a simplistic DMV (D.C./Maryland/Virgina) logo with a bit of "Miami Vice"-ish flare. Before this I hadn't ever heard of Good Bully, but it seems to me they may have a big part in Wale's push into mainstream hip-hop. Check out some of these sketches for the "Attention Deficit Tour" also done by the Good Bully artists.

Wale Week

Well this is pretty self-explanatory.
