"Hot As H-E-Double Hockey Sticks...

...Make sure you give the chef your compliments and thank him for his constantly great tasting accomplishments or smiley-face emoticons if you want to remain anonymous." - from "The One" featured on Enemy of the State: A Love Story.

I thought I'd give my thanks to Lupe by posting his new mixtape on The 'Morrisism. And not WilliamMorrisism, my William Morris inspired arts & crafts blog. Enjoy this gem. It's very reminiscent of his "Fahrenheit 1/15" series earlier in his career. A determined Lupe announces his lyrical supremacy by demolishing a variety of beats. "Friend of the People", Lupe's next mixtape, is slated for release on Christmas day. Praise Jesus!

Frye Boots...Shoes

The guys over at Street Etiquette had the pleasure of having a sneak peak at Frye Boots Spring/Summer line-up. A big leap away from their traditional engineer boot the brand has expanded into slip-ons, boat shoes and chukkas. The variety doesn't stop in styles either, the brand has expanded it's colours schemes and roster of materials. I have been pondering a shift over to "grown-man-ness" lately. Could these shoes be the first step?

Ninjasonik - Daylight Remix (Video)

Good morning Sunday. You prelude to Monday. Thief of motivation. Lover of distraction. If I see daylight today, I'll be lucky.

Watch Listen Tell, Repeat.

Watch Listen Tell gives music lovers live music like they've never experienced it. Not live at all! Somehow through raw footage of breaking artists WLT's creators, Dave Tree and Ben Axtell, bring the live music experience to your computer screen. WLT puts artists in unique locations and asks them to showcase their best. They've captured many up-and-coming artists like; Mercury Music Prize winning Speech Debelle (above), Florence and The Machine and Golden Silvers (the post bellow). Check out their channel on YouTube here.

I am alone right now. I'm still trying to lead an overhead clap though.

The Antlers - Two (Video)

After two years of social isolation in his Brooklyn residence The Antlers frontman Peter Silbeman emerged with "Hospice" an album that tells the tale of a man watching a loved one die slowly of bone cancer. A brash mix post-rock and folk this is album is uplifting and unearthing. Enjoy the video for "Two" a track that comes near the end of this album's morose story.

Wristcutters: A Love Story (Trailer)

Super late pass on this one. Released almost two years ago, a friend of mine gave me this movie this summer. I only got around to watching it this weekend. Though it seems bleak and depressing "Wristcutters" leaves you feeling warm and re-energized. Don't let the title scare you away, it has little to do with the content of the movie. Witty, hip and downright hilarious I didn't want it to end. True escapism in film.

Backpack Ready For Battle

The Pangolin Backpack by Cyclus is named after a scaly anteater from the tropical regions of Asia and Africa. Mimicking the pangolin's plate-like scales this bag is kept closed by using magnetic closures rather than the sea of zippers on other bags. Made from recycled truck tire inner tubes this bag is durable and sets you up to brag about being "eco-friendly." Inside, unlike it's mammalian counterpart, it's full of pouches and pockets for your pens, pencils and oversized "Big Mistake" eraser.

Sesame Street's Ernie - I Don't Want to Live on the Moon (Video)

With all these rappers claiming their status as martians, aliens and other interplanetary beings, I'm going to have to agree with Ernie. Living on the moon (or under the ocean for that matter) would be neat for an afternoon. Living there? Not so much.

Play Cloths Winter Line Part 1

The Clipse's brand Play Cloths has really hit it out of the park with this line. Fall and Winter Clothes that look like Fall and Winter clothes. Thick knits and designs that put focus on comfort. Im especially love the graphic on the t-shirt, check out a more detailed look bellow.

The Postal Service - The District Sleeps Alone Tonight (Video)

This song makes Monday easier. Much needed.

That Guy(s)...

Dee and Ricky

The twin brothers Jackson have flipped the world of accessories on it's head. Their signature Lego-built pieces are chunky and simplistic. Lego bowites, Etch-A-Sketch belt-buckles and fake cigarette broaches round out an eye-catching collection. They caught the eye of Marc Jacobs and contributed to his spring 2008 line. They also are two-thirds of the hip hop trio Jackson Swinton. Check out some of their stuff bellow and at their website.

Aw-Ree

I find there is a certain thrill associated with learning a new word. The first time you use this word the rush is intensified. Waiting to see the audiences appreciation of your phonetic feat. Definition and spelling spring-loaded if needed. On guard for any accusations of shenanigans or foul play. Making sure your cemented in every detail. When reading you read words how you see them. If you don't feel like it's a challenging word, you don't question it's pronunciation. This is the case with me and the word "awry". Pronounced a-rye, I had spent the last 15 odd years saying a-ree. Interviews, socials, house partys, school, fast food cashier interactions all marred by my idiocy. When watching a certain "...Video Music Awards" with group of people I exclaimed "Oh no! Things have gone aw-ree!" To which my sister responded. "Aw-ree?" "Yeah" I said "Aw-ree. Like bad, unexpected." "Do you mean a-rye?" I looked at her, glassy-eyed, re-living every use of the word in the blink of an eye. This instant realization was shocking and eye-opening. My quest for vocabulary supremacy had blinded me and now I was paying the ultimate price. I urge you to learn new words, their spelling, their definition and most importantly the way they are said.

Eat My Sh(oes)!

These shoes look good enough to eat. As if constructed by Willy Wonka himself. The OG Nike Air Force 180 Pump has many fine distinctions; it's text, colour scheme and chunky soles. Charles Barkley used to endorse these, so I bet they cost $100,000.

The Highway To High Colesterol

Do you ever find yourself endlessly searching for a topping for your sandwich or burger? Sick of hot sauce and his false promises? The ultimate condiment has been presented to mankind in the form of "Baconnaise". Part swine, part whipped topping this spread will have you drooling like the horny wolf in classic cartoons. Have I tried it? No way. I have too much respect for my pallet.
