Okay, I'm going to have to invoke my "late pass" here. I read about this mixtape everywhere but put off downloading it until this week. Bad move on my part. "This Charming Mixtape" is a well crafted blend of electro-hip-hop and spacey soul infused with insightful lyrics and the occasional Jesse Boykins III cameo. Theophilus London is yet again another artist from Brooklyn creating a new sound for the ever changing music universe. With the help of super producer Machine Drums this is achieved. On the track "Take Your Life" a rock influence can be heard which sounds a bit like, Brooklyn music scene mainstays, TV On The Radio. The only downfall of this mixtape is that London's verse are short and sparsely spread out. Overall this mixtape is a sign of greater things to come from this up-and-comer.
