Oakley and Andrew Patterson "Handcrafted Series" Frogskins
The pair on the left in the middle will be mine. I swear by everything holy I will obtain a pair through hell or high water. Andrew Patterson crafted each Frogskin by hand; making only 50 pairs of these shades.

Robocop - Kanye West

I woke up this morning to find CD quality versions of this track, "Robocop", and "Coldest Winter" which is dedicated to his mother who died unexpectedly last year. I love the direction he's taken this album and his sound. On a grander scale this is only a sign of things to come.

XV - If I Could Draw (The Visual Experience)

XV (The Coolniverse) is coming close to the end of 40 Days/40 Nights, a project where he released a new single every morning and every night for forty days. "If I Could Draw" is the definite stand out track from this set of 80 Singles. The visual experience isn't anything stunning, but lyrically XV shows why young hip-hop artists are constantly pushing the limits of the genre.

Special Trailer

I can not wait for this movie, being into comics and graphic novels this story is right up my alley. Michael Rapaport strikes me as just the guy to do this role as well. No idea when it's coming out in full release or even if it is, but I do know it's done well at all the festivals.

NBA Bowlers

I turned on TSN at 2PM today and started to watch the Chris Paul Celebrity Bowling Tournament. Featuring Lebron James, Kevin Durant and a bunch of bowlers I have never heard of. When I searched NBA Bowlers on youtube I came up with this video of my main man Peja Stojakovic bowling...."we can edit that out."

Role Models Trailer

I scored some tickets to the screening of "Role Models" in Toronto for this Wednesday, so I thought I'd check the trailer first. I love Paul Rudd and young black children make me laugh, so I think this may quickly become a favorite of mine.

Springfield Punx (www.springfieldpunx.blogspot.com)

Created by Calgary-based artist Dean Fraser, Springfield Punx is loaded these "simpsonized" pop culture figures. Currently doing a "Month of Marvel" Dean also has filled the sites with hundreds of characters from movies, tv shows, cartoons and as previously mentioned comic books. My favorite by far has to be Tobias Funke from "Arrested Development". Check out some of my other favorites...

Music For Ya Ears

Heartless (Rough Mix)-Kanye West
The second single off Kanye's upcoming "808s and Heartbreak", this track takes elements from Kanye's previous albums. The playfulness of "Late Registration", the futuristic synths of "Graduation" and lyrical value of "Late Registration." The listening party for "808's..." was on the Tuesday at La Brea in Los Angeles and it was stocked with naked chicks with fros!(Check the pictures...) All the reviews I've heard so far say that Kanye has done it once again. Download "Heartless" here...

The Cool Kids - Delivery Man

I know I'm late with this one, and for that I'm sorry. The Cool Kids never seem to stop amazing me. They are constantly evolving and becoming the best rap-duo out there, unless Outkast is still together. This video strays far away from your contemporary hip-hop music video and almost boggles me sometimes, what is with the all-white outfits and falcons?

Comme Des Garcons "Play" Series
French for "like boys", this boy likes! Designed in Japan by Rei Kawakubo this line never seems to dissapoint with its simplistic designs. Earlier this year Kawakubo designed a line for H&M, which was a little too grungy for me. In Toronto you can pick up Comme Des Garcons at Nomad (431 Richmond St. West), otherwise it is sprinkled throughout retailers across the world.

GShock Japan-BlackXGold Series
Just about euurrrverybody has done a collaboration with GShock in the past year, and I mean euurrrverybody. So when you see these in-house designed watches its like a breath of fresh air. The mix of colours in the metal, the exposed workings of the watches, the slight variances in the design; everything about these watches are cool. They have a definite Tony Stark/Iron Man feel to them.

Hot Chip — Boy from School

Remember Art Attack? Well Glaswegian techno-rockers, Hot Chip, do as well. In this video for "Boy From School" they give the guys at Art Attack a run for their money. One of Hot Chip's many intriguing video's, if your like this one check out the videos for "Colours" and "Playboy."

Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa (The Teenagers Remix)
What happens when you take a band of sneering Parisians and four Columbia University graduates? Well respectively you get The Teenagers and Vampire Weekend, but you also get a reworked version of an already dope-ass track. This re-tooled interpretation of a stand-out from Vampire Weekend's self-titled debut gets a cool post-rock sound indicative of many of The Teenagers remixes. You should definitely give this track a spin...

Lupe Fiasco At Circa

This past Friday a couple of friends and I made our way to Toronto to check out Lupe Fiasco. Gemstones opened up and absolutely killed it, at one point rapping faster than the speed of light! Lupe then rocked the stage, with a full band and back-up singers consisting of his album mainstays Matt Santos and Sarah Greene. The lights were mesmerizing, especially to someone like myself who was pretty inebriated . Overall once again a top-tier performance from Lupe.

Carhartt Streetwear
Carhartt, the workwear company that has been around since 1889 and been rocked by the Wu themselves, has now branched into streetwear. Taking their cues from brands like American Apparel and staying on-top of todays trendy colours and patterns, this line is definitely a step-up from anything Dickies has ever put out. Sadly this stuff is only available Europe for now. Check them out at: www.carhartt-streetwear.com

Smoking Mittens by Tobias Wong
Made for those who smoke and have to brave the tundra that is outside the bar/club. Made with a metal eyelet that holds the cigarette tight and also reducing the staining of fingers. No longer must smokers cut down during the winter months, getting your nicotine fix during a white out has never been easier.

Paris is On (Album Version) by Paul Brill

I fell in love with this video the minute I watched it. The story-line is confusing at best but visually it's quite satisfying. Don't know too much about Paul Brill but I'll be sure to check his myspace (www.myspace.com/paulbrill).
